St. Munchin’s Community Centre in Kileely held an event to thank the hundreds of local people who helped with the search for Chloe Kinsella. Speaking at the event her uncle, Matthew Franklin, made an emotional appeal, “Young girls — look what is after happening a young girl, as young as 15, a child gone. I urge you to just look after yourselves and I urge you to really live your life and just be happy.” Also in attendance was a large gathering of Chloe’s friends from her community in Kileely, fellow fifth year students at St Nessan’s Community School and pals from Flawless School of Dance. The dance school, at St. Munchins Community Centre, run by her cousin Billy Franklin, was where Chloe honed an impressive array of skills in freestyle and hip hop dance. She was one of a leading group at the school that performed for President Michael D Higgins when he visited St Munchin’s Community Centre, Kileely, on one of his first official office engagements. Over the last five years this centre has assisted their community to develop a sense of pride and reach its full potential by responding to needs and issues as they arise by providing a central, accessible and visible hub for local community activity. To contact the centre call 061 458651.
